Cinédanse Rouyn-Noranda is postponed to next winter

Montréal, Friday, July 16, 2021 – The next edition of Cinédanse, scheduled to be held from September 15 to 26, 2021 in Rouyn-Noranda, has been postponed to next winter, to ensure the presence of foreign artists, despite the imminent announcement of the reopening of the borders somewhere in September. The new dates of the event will be announced during the fall.

Sylvain Bleau, its producer, said: “Faced with the possibility of knowing only at the last minute if we will be able to hold the event as we had imagined it, in consultation with our Board of Directors and our partners, we have decided to postponed it. Our ambition has always been to initiate exchanges and encourage encounters between artists from here and abroad and the public of the communities where our nomadic event takes place. We are not and will never be a virtual platform. We hope for collective immunity and the possibility of welcoming foreign artists back soon so that real encounters can take place. Artists and producers from abroad are very curious to discover the rich cultural soil of Rouyn-Noranda and Abitibi. We are convinced that the warm audience of Rouyn-Noranda will follow us in this decision. And we will dance in the snow!”

Stay tuned for the new dates of Cinédanse Rouyn-Noranda 2022 to be announced this fall.
